[Alice Caracciola correspondence] [manuscript] 1946-1947.

This collection consists of three letters written by Alice Caracciloa, wife of race car driver Rudolf Caracciloa, to Jack Zell, an auto racing enthusiast in Milwaukee who eventually gave his extensive collection of racing car books to the Milwaukee Public Library in 1962. The letters date from 1946-1947 and are interesting for their commentary on the state of auto racing at that time as well as the effect that World War II had on the sport. Collection includes a postcard of Rudolf Carracciola, autographed and dated July 30, 1946.
